The Museum is housed in a Georgian building on three levels.
The ground floor has two large Galleries - the Ben Emmerson Room, and the Carter Connection. These have level access.
A stair lift gives access to the Archaeology Room.
On the first floor are the remaining two galleries. The David Butters Room is possible to access via an elevator situated in the Town Hall part of the building, but this is not always available on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. Room 5 is only accessible via three steps from the first floor landing.
Visitors with mobility issues are advised to contact us prior to visiting and we will do our best to ensure the stair lift and elevator will be available on the proposed visit date. We are able to accommodate one mobility scooter at a time. Should assistance be required during a visit, please inform us beforehand and when possible we will have an extra steward available.
Carers will not be charged admission fee.
