The Conflict and Consequences Gallery grew out of a National Lottery Grant between 2019 and 2021 for living reminiscences of World War II.
However, the COVID pandemic interrupted our plans and we asked the Lottery Fund for permission to include other and more immediate instances of conflicts and their consequences.
The Gallery is not complete as the consequences of such issues as COVID, BREXIT, Black Lives Matters, travel disruption, cost of living, fuel, war and violence are still completely around us.
It means that the collection of memories and memorabilia will continue over some years.
Even in its unfinished state we have received many positive comments about bringing the museum up to date and the thinking it engenders.
We have also created this e-archive documenting the Conflict & Consequences
The Swaffham ‘Covid Quilt’ which grew out of the NHS/Threads of survival project where individuals quilted their thoughts on COVID has now returned from its national tour and is on display.
