Swaffham History Group logo

Swaffham History Group meets monthly at Swaffham Heritage. It was formed in 2008 as a non-profit making group to undertake original research into aspects of Swaffham's history and also to work with other organisations and individuals with similar aspirations.

This is, where appropriate, in liaison with Swaffham Heritage.

We have recently published our 28th booklet on aspects of Swaffham's history, this time on Kindertransport. The evacuation of Jewish children from Germany during the Nazi era.

Previous booklets have been 14 on the town's old pubs and inns, 1 on the Brewery, 4 on local charities, and 4 on public services - Fire, Water, Police and Post Office. All are available from Swaffham Heritage shop.

We have also published two A4 Hardback books:

  1. The Book of Swaffham
  2. Swaffham, Crafts, Trades and Professions

"Brilliant little museum with friendly knowledgeable staff. Exhibition on Howard Carter who discovered Tutankhamen's tomb was particularly interesting and enjoyable." Read more reviews
